Biohazard Cleanup
Bloodborne pathogens, germs, require universal precautions. This means that human blood when wet, moist, or dry and flaky carries biohazards like HIV and Hepititis C. When dried blood becomes airborne then it may cause health issues if you contamination occurs. Usually contamination by airborne blood occurs to through the eyes. This is rare, but not impossible.
Violent deaths do not typically lead to airborne biohazards. Dry flaked blood in a coagulated state may become airborne. Therefore, moving blood flaked materials requires caution. Handle with care. Move slowly and have an open container for disposal. If washing, have hot, soapy water with a heavy bleach concentration. Wear gloves, eye and nose protection.
